  13. .SH SYNOPSIS

  16. sact \fIfile\fR...
  17. .fi
  18. .SH DESCRIPTION
  19. The
  20. .IR sact
  21. utility shall inform the user of any impending deltas to a named SCCS
  22. file by writing a list to standard output. This situation occurs when
  23. .IR get
  24. .BR \-e
  25. has been executed previously without a subsequent execution of
  26. .IR delta ,
  27. .IR unget ,
  28. or
  29. .IR sccs
  30. .BR unedit .
  31. .SH OPTIONS
  32. None.
  33. .SH OPERANDS
  34. The following operand shall be supported:
  35. .IP "\fIfile\fR" 10
  36. A pathname of an existing SCCS file or a directory. If
  37. .IR file
  38. is a directory, the
  39. .IR sact
  40. utility shall behave as though each file in the directory were
  41. specified as a named file, except that non-SCCS files (last component
  42. of the pathname does not begin with
  43. .BR s. )
  44. and unreadable files shall be silently ignored.
  45. .RS 10
  46. .P
  47. If exactly one
  48. .IR file
  49. operand appears, and it is
  50. .BR '\-' ,
  51. the standard input shall be read; each line of the standard input shall
  52. be taken to be the name of an SCCS file to be processed. Non-SCCS files
  53. and unreadable files shall be silently ignored.
  54. .RE
  55. .SH STDIN
  56. The standard input shall be a text file used only when the
  57. .IR file
  58. operand is specified as
  59. .BR '\-' .
  60. Each line of the text file shall be interpreted as an SCCS pathname.
  61. .SH "INPUT FILES"
  62. Any SCCS files interrogated are files of an unspecified format.
  63. .SH "ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES"
  64. The following environment variables shall affect the execution of
  65. .IR sact :
  66. .IP "\fILANG\fP" 10
  67. Provide a default value for the internationalization variables that are
  68. unset or null. (See the Base Definitions volume of POSIX.1\(hy2017,
  69. .IR "Section 8.2" ", " "Internationalization Variables"
  70. for the precedence of internationalization variables used to determine
  71. the values of locale categories.)
  72. .IP "\fILC_ALL\fP" 10
  73. If set to a non-empty string value, override the values of all the
  74. other internationalization variables.
  75. .IP "\fILC_CTYPE\fP" 10
  76. Determine the locale for the interpretation of sequences of bytes of
  77. text data as characters (for example, single-byte as opposed to
  78. multi-byte characters in arguments and input files).
  79. .IP "\fILC_MESSAGES\fP" 10
  80. .br
  81. Determine the locale that should be used to affect the format and
  82. contents of diagnostic messages written to standard error.
  83. .IP "\fINLSPATH\fP" 10
  84. Determine the location of message catalogs for the processing of
  85. .IR LC_MESSAGES .
  86. .SH "ASYNCHRONOUS EVENTS"
  87. Default.
  88. .SH STDOUT
  89. The output for each named file shall consist of a line in the following
  90. format:
  91. .sp
  92. .RS 4
  93. .nf
  94. "%s %s %s %s %s\en", <\fISID\fR>, <\fInew SID\fR>, <\fIlogin\fR>, <\fIdate\fR>, <\fItime\fR>
  95. .fi
  96. .P
  97. .RE
  98. .IP "<\fISID\fR>" 10
  99. Specifies the SID of a delta that currently exists in the SCCS file to
  100. which changes are made to make the new delta.
  101. .IP "<\fInew\ SID\fR>" 10
  102. Specifies the SID for the new delta to be created.
  103. .IP "<\fIlogin\fR>" 10
  104. Contains the login name of the user who makes the delta (that is, who
  105. executed a
  106. .IR get
  107. for editing).
  108. .IP "<\fIdate\fR>" 10
  109. Contains the date that
  110. .IR get
  111. .BR \-e
  112. was executed, in the format used by the
  113. .IR prs
  114. .BR :D:
  115. data keyword.
  116. .IP "<\fItime\fR>" 10
  117. Contains the time that
  118. .IR get
  119. .BR \-e
  120. was executed, in the format used by the
  121. .IR prs
  122. .BR :T:
  123. data keyword.
  124. .P
  125. If there is more than one named file or if a directory or standard
  126. input is named, each pathname shall be written before each of the
  127. preceding lines:
  128. .sp
  129. .RS 4
  130. .nf
  131. "\en%s:\en", <\fIpathname\fR>
  132. .fi
  133. .P
  134. .RE
  135. .SH STDERR
  136. The standard error shall be used only for optional informative
  137. messages concerning SCCS files with no impending deltas, and for
  138. diagnostic messages.
  139. .SH "OUTPUT FILES"
  140. None.
  141. .SH "EXTENDED DESCRIPTION"
  142. None.
  143. .SH "EXIT STATUS"
  144. The following exit values shall be returned:
  145. .IP "\00" 6
  146. Successful completion.
  147. .IP >0 6
  148. An error occurred.
  149. .SH "CONSEQUENCES OF ERRORS"
